Love/Hate Relationship

I have a love/hate relationship with my treadmill. We got a new one back in January and ever since then I have been on running for a few weeks, going strong, then something happens and bam I am off for a few weeks.  I just can't seem to keep that steady pace. When I am running I am in love, love how I feel, love how my body changes, love the runner's "high". Then I get sick, or we go on vacation or I try to do a cartwheel at a labor day party and completely pull all of my muscles to the point where I couldn't walk for a week (true story..lol)! How do you stay motivated to workout continuously? I need to find the way!
